Rally of Haryana electricity employees

An unprecendent rally in the history of Haryana was held on Ist September, 2002 at Jind on the call of Haryana Employees Joint Action Committee inclusive of Sarva Karmachari Sangh, Haryana and Haryana Karmachari Mahasangh against the LPG policies of the Government of Haryana at the behest of GOI.  Till  now due to privatisation retrenchments, closures, has resulted in termination of 16,000 employees and 25,000 posts abolished.   The contract labour system is being increasingly implemented in power utilities.  In Universities employees having 20 years service or age more than 50 years are being terminated at three months notice.  Hospital services are being commercialised  and the closures of health sub centres is being attempted.  Privatisation is in full drive and 16,000 teachers have been declared surplus.  To oppose all above policies the entire employees in Haryana have resolved to make a joint struggle.  As its first step the joint rally was held in Jind in which more than 50,000 employees participated.  

            In the rally following  action programme was declared:

1) from Sep.9 to 11 protest meetings will be conducted in all govt. officers

2) On 18th Sep. Two hours tool down/pen down strike

3) On 2nd Oct. Demonstrations will be held before all legislators’ residences and memorandum will be given4) One day token strike on 17th October.
