The participants were representatives from the All India Federation of Electricity Employees, All India Power Engineers Federation, All India Power Diploma Engineers Federation, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyut Mazdoor Sangh and Electricity Employees Federation of India. Er. B.S. Meel placed the agenda and made a brief of total background during intervening period. Without taking any signal of Orissa’s bitter experience, the Government of Delhi has privatized the distribution sector after restructuring DVB. The representatives of all the participant organizations deliberated and following decisions were taken unanimously besides a resolution was adopted against DVB privatization: - 1. W.E.F. 9th August to 24th August 2002 a vigorous mass awareness campaign to be launched all over the country with a slogan “World Bank/ Multinational Organizations quit Indian Power Sector.” 2. Joint press conference in states by the constituents of NCCOEEE be held on 9th August 2002 atleast at all commissioner head quarters/ Big towns in each states say for example at least in 5 to 10 cities depending upon the size of the state. 3. Mass demonstrations, simultaneously in all state capitals by Electricity Employees and Engineers on 3rd day of the introduction of Electricity Bill-2001 in Parliament, by standing committee on energy. 4. Within a time frame of 15 days state Co-ordination Committee of NCCOEEE be constituted or reconstituted as replica of NCCOEEE or as mutually agreed upon at state level. 5. A letter to be addressed to the Chairman/Director, Standing Committee on Energy for facilitating a hearing to NCCOEEE against electricity Bill-2001 necessitated in lieu of representation made earlier. 6. A Press statement should be issued regarding electricity cuts in Delhi warning the people about illusions of insulation in tariff hike and blames levelled against electricity employees by Delhi Government.
