Funds for rural electrification

Amount released/allocated under the Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana Rural electrification was included under the PMGY from 2001-02. Under this, funds for village electrification are available as additional central assistance – 90 per cent as grant and 10 per cent as loan for the special category states and 30 per cent as grant and 70 per cent as loan for other states. The government allocated Rs. 3,606 million to various states (including the union territories) under the PMGY for 2003-04 for rural electrification.
