The best performers  and the worst during 2003-04

Maharashtra led the states in terms of thermal power generation, accounting for more than 46 billion units, while  Karnataka factor (PLF), karnataka was once again the frontrunner state with a PLF of 88 per cent.  Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Orissa scored over the other states in hydel generation at 7.3 billion units.  Delhi was rated as the best reforming state in January 2004  followed in that order.  Meanwhile, the peak deficit was the highest in Gujarat at 26.6 percent followed by Madhya Pradesh, which by rating agency ICRA, followed by Andhra Pradesh, which had stood first in the previous year’s rankings.  In terms of plant load faced a deficit of 22 per cent.
