SAFETY CONVENTION DILIP DUTTA (SECRETARIAT MEMBER WBSEB WORKMEN'S UNION)


West Bengal State Electricity Board Workmen's union is playing a vital role of Trade Union in West Bengal State Electricity Board to establish the right of the working class and to fight against the reactionary forces in the electricity Industry. This union has shaped a new dimension in the Trade Union Movement adding a new demand of the working class in the charter of workers. The demand that to take suitable measure to stop the disease originated from occupation and to make ensure the Safety of the working class to perform their activity in the course of employment. Union has gone through the matter regarding occupational diseases and safety of the workers deeply. So the Union has been fighting against the Management on the above demand launching different programme of the Union such as agitation, Deputation, Wearing Batch etc. since 1998. This year on the 9th March a Convention regarding safety was held in the district town at Burdwan organized by WBSEB Workmen's Union where the Chairman of WBSEB Dr.G.D.Gautam and the Managing director of WBPDCL Er Biranjit Paul were invited to deliver their speeches regarding actions taken in their respective concern on the demand of the Union. They have assured that heartfelt attempt will be taken in their respective concern to make the Electricity arrangement success with no accident. In the convention Com.Dilip Dutta, the Secretariat-member of WBSEB Workmen's Union presided over the meeting. A few representatives of some Association were also present in the said meeting. The Hall was over crowded with the participants. This convention has inspired the workers to a great deep. The meeting was concluded with vote of thanks by Com. Pratul Nandi, another Secretariat Member of the Union.
