Voice of Electricity Workers 18. Mr. B.L. Jat, treasurer, RSEB Engineers Association has raised the question of employee’s terminal benefits. The objector pointed out that as per the provisions of the Transfer scheme the petitioner was bound to safeguard the interests of the employees and was to be guided by sub clauses (7)&(8) of clause 6. As per the Transfer Scheme provision towards pension and gratuity was to be kept at Rs 525 crores whereas in the petition table 3.4 the provision on only Rs.53.080 crores has been kept. Also a trust was to be created which is yet to be constituted and made effective. 19. RVPN in its reply has stated that as per provisions of the Transfer Scheme, liability of payment of pension and gratuity in respect of employees erstwhile RSEB, who retires on or before 19.7.2000, is with RVPN as well as of those pertaining to RVPN retiring thereafter. For employees who retired on or before 19th July a lump slum provision of Rs.4448.64 lakhs has been made and for employees to retire after this date a provision @ 16.17% of pay and DA amounting to Rs.1,267.66 lakhs has been kept. 20. The Commission shares the concern expressed by the treasurer, RSEB Engineers Association and would like to safeguard the interests of the employees. The Commission has evolved a system whereby the amount required for discharging all the liabilities of the employees in any given year would be safeguarded. This has been dealt with subsequently in this order. 76. The Commission directs that the petitioner should transfer a sum equal to 3.57 paisa per unit of energy sold by it every month in the account of a separate trust designated for this purpose. The amount to be remitted each month shall be paid by 15th of the following month. |
