Organisational issues

Com. B.S. Meel made a brief of the 10th Rally and the meeting held with the Power Ministry (GOI) and placed the proposal of action programme. After discussions it was decided by NCCOEEE that :

It was felt that the arrangement at the 10th Dec. Rally should have been more orderly. Suggestions have been taken into account . One of the reason of confusion was due to lack of attendance at the pre eve rally meeting of NCCOEEE on 9th Dec.04 of representative from National Federations.

It was felt that the next meeting of NCCOEEE with Power Ministry is probably to be held in the last week of Jan’05. The status of power reforms be collected in respect of unbundled SEBs namely Orissa, Haryana, Karnataka, A.P., U.P, Rajasthan & Delhi at NCCOEEE level. Representative of NCCOEEE from concerned states are requested to arrange this information to NCCOEEE office at New Delhi at the earliest.

A resolution supporting the agitation of struggling U.P. electricity employees and engineers against privatisation of power utilities was adopted unanimously.

On organizational issue, Communication to AIPMF be made seeking the details of their unions representation in state chapters of NCCOEEE.

It was decided that national federation shall contribute Rs.5000/- each to NCCOEEE funds so as to reach NCCOEEE office by middle of Feb’05.

Future Action plan mentioned below was approved to mount pressure on the GOI and respective state governments to desist from restructuring of SEBs and their privatisation.

March to Chandigarh by Electricity Employees and Engineers of Northern Region on 7th Feb.05 against the restructuring of PSEB, decided by northern region chapter of NCCOEEE is to be made a big success. The available representatives of NCCOEEE at Chandigarh shall have a meeting at Chandigarh with northern regional representatives on 6th Feb.’05 evening at Chandigarh.

The telegrams of protest against restructuring of PSEB& MSEB and Privatisation of U.P. Power utilities, be get initiated by our sub-divisional, divisional and circle level organization in the following time frame:

In the second fortnight Jan’05 by all the circle level units of the constituents of national federation in each state shall send letters of protest (Matter format enclosed) to the Chief Ministers & Chairmans of Punjab, Maharashtra and U.P- Prasar Nigam.

These protest letters by divisional organisations in each state shall be faxed in the first fortnight of Feb.’05

These protest letters from the sub-divisional level organization be sent in the 2nd fortnight of Feb.’05.

Regional Convention (Northern, Southern, Western, Eastern &NE) be held by first week of March’05 all over the country. Western regional convention will be held at Bhopal. Southern regional convention will be held at Trivandrum. Eastern & N.E. regional convention will be held at Kolkatta & Guwahati. Northern regional convention will be held in New Delhi in which invitation will also be extended to states outside northern region for token participation.
