Stop attack against employees
of Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation - EEFI
This Vth conference of Electricity Employees Federation of India register its
strong protest against the heinous attempt of the management of the Calcutta
Electric Supply Corporation limited to drastically reduce about 50% of the
permanent employees totaling 12899 through the imposition voluntary retirement
scheme in the name of reduction of cost. Naturally it is being opposed by trade
unions and they are building up a united resistance which is led by CES
workmen's union the recognized union (CITU). The struggle of this workers must
be supported by all the trade unions since this struggle is for a just cause.
This conference demands that the management should retrace their steps from
retrenching the workers and find other means to reduce the cost and improving
the company's position. This conference is confident that the West Bengal
workers will be able to defeat this nefarious game of the management.
