1.       On the 12^th March 2003 from 10 a.m until 5 p.m, Trade Unions / Officers Associations either individually or collectively (for example, United Forum of Bank Unions or National Coordination Committee of Electricity Engineers and Employees) will sit in Dharna / Satyagraha in front of the office of the District Collector and at suitable places in state capitals and metros. 

2.       The TUs and OAs will participate under their banner against their slogans. On display will be the collective determination of the collective. 

3.       Wherever feasible consumer and other sympathetic non-political organisations and prominent citizens will be requested to join the Dharna.   

4.        The slogans for the Dharna will be:

·         Scrap the Electricity Bill 2001

·         Stop the privatisation of BPCL and HPCL.

·         No disinvestment in BSNL and MTNL.

·         Autonomy and restructuring of Public Sector Undertakings; No to privatisation.

·         No Privatisation of Banks, Insurance and other Financial Institutions.  

5.       In addition, in local areas some slogans may be added (for example, in Raigad district there may an additional slogan of Stop Privatisation of HOC etc.) However there will be no slogans relating to wage revision or other economic issues. 

6.       A common memorandum to be submitted to the Dist. Collector (or the concerned authorities) is under preparation. 

7.       Before or during the Dharna District/ State level coordination committees will be formed called “Coordination Committee to Stop the sale of National Assets”.  

8.       Future course of action will be decided at a meeting of all the organisations that participate in the 12^th March, Dharna. 

9.       The enclosed poster (and translations) will be printed locally and used for the Dharna. Local participating organisation names may be added to the poster.
