NO.4-5 An extended meeting of the National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers was held at 28, Race Course Cross Road, Anand Rao Circle, Bangalore-560 009 at 5.00 PM on 8th February, 2003. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Naikwadi. The participants were the representatives from AIPEF, AIFEE, EEFI, AIDPEF and NCOA. The meeting of National Coordination Committee of the Electricity Employees and Engineers held at Bangalore dwelt at length on the action to be taken for opposing the Electricity Bill-2001 which is likely to be discussed and passed in the Budget session of the parliament. It was felt that it is time to act now and unanimously decided the following action programme: 1. On 12th March Wednesday Satyagraha to be conducted at all state capitals and Delhi by the Employees & Engineers and hold press conferences explaining the objections against the Electricity Bill-2001. 2. Regional conventions to be held at Calcutta, Chennai, Bhopal, Mumbai, Lucknow and Patiala between March 15- 31st. It is requested that these conventions should be addressed by senior NCCOEE leaders. 3. One day earlier the day the Bill is discussed in the Parliament be observed as a Blackday by lightening action of a walk out and stopping work and holding demonstrations throughout the day without disrupting power supply. 4. NCCOEEE will coordinate with unions for joint action in other sectors like telecom, oil and PSU and financial sectors. Action for strengthening Coordination For the effective implementation of the decision of NCCOEEE meet at Bangalore, it is requested that State units of NCCOEEE be constituted wherever not formed so far. The national federations/organisations of employees and engineers are also requested to direct their state constituents to channelize their efforts to explore the possibilities of constituting state units of NCCOEEE before regional conventions. Efforts to be made to bring all unions including independent organisations in the set up. |
